Born in Paris in the 18th arrondissement, Enricka Moutou spent part of her teenage years in Martinique and developed a love for cinema and writing. On her return to Paris, she tried her hand at acting while pursuing studies in literature and cultural dynamics. Her experience as an actress soon made her want to write and direct her own stories. She was then selected to participate in the 2016 edition of the La Ruche de Gindou Cinéma residency. During this residency, she worked on the script of "Dorlis" which she pitched on the Comedy Club's Talents en court stage, which enabled her to sign with a production company. As the project was still in development, she decided to make a first film in total self-production in order to practice directing: "La K-Z".
