Kopex who burst onto the PNG music scene in the 80s with hits like "haus bensin",Elizabeth etc. Back then, Leonard Kania was their lead singer and the late Kamit Mamua was their lead guitarist.Kopex recorded many albums with Pacific Gold Studios in Rabaul-In 1989 after Kamit's passing Kopex lost abit of momentum in their musical activites, lead vocalist Leonard Kania left the group in 1991 to pursue a solo career and a new group calling themselves "junior kopex",dominated by Leonard Kania's younger brothers, began pounding the music industry.In this clip Kopex perform their hit song "Mi lonley nau" with Australian music proffessor Michael Webb who was based in Rabaul to documment local music and also recorded with local bands such as Kopex, Narox etc before the 1994 volcanic eruptions-Part of the clip was shot inside the original Pacific Gold Studios in Rabaul.-The drummer is Lino Tiriman,,one of PNG's best,a specialist in double kick drumming.
