Maria KACHANI-SCHUMACHER (Maria Kachani-Schumacher) is a choreographer, actress, director, author (playwright).

Coming from the Casablanca Conservatory where she had a solid training in Classical Dance (many awards mark this first course: 1st Medal, 1975 - 1st Accessit, 1978 - 1st Prize, 1980 - 1st Prize, 1982 - 2nd Prize, 1987), she will continue her training as an actress and choreographer as far as Germany.

A detour through the theater and the cinema is also essential:
- First female role: Theater, "Catherine & Amar", written and directed by A. MOGHAZI
- First female role: Theater, "La Petite Hutte" by André Roussin, staging: B.TALII
- First female role: Short film by Omar CHRAÏBI, "Lumière", for the Centenary of cinema.
Through these experiences, Maria wanted to reconcile dance in the theater. She was looking for the missing link!
This is how the Bauhaus movement, Kandisky, Martha Graham, meets the expectations of our young artist. In France, she will do an introspection in the world of theater thanks to the Maison du Geste et de l'Image, then through the Commedia dell'Arte with Carlo Boso.
