Omar Elhamy was born and raised in Egypt. He has been living in Quebec, Canada for a few years now and is a director, writer and editor. His films have been acclaimed in several festivals and art galleries. He has directed Tartarus (2019), Paria (2015). In 2018-2019, he presented Five Seasons Behind the Sun, his first expanded film work at Galerie Dazibao in Montreal. Foam (2020), his latest short film, is part of the International Short Film Competition of the 70th Berlinale. He is currently working on his first feature film, Frère Raison.
