Vivien was born in the university city of Cambridge and brought up as a child in Zambia in Central Africa.  At 12 years of age the family returned to the UK and Vivien completed her education in London.  Vivien studied Geography at Brookes University in Oxford and took her Masters twenty years later at The University of Sydney.  For over 25 years Vivien worked in Travel and Tourism with British Airways, Qantas and Jetset Tours.  In 1999 Vivien organised a university tour to the South Pacific which included two weeks in Vanuatu.  On retirement in 2002 Vivien and her husband moved to Vanuatu and built a small house and studio.  Following many years of leisure courses in art and calligraphy Vivien turned her hand to painting and now paints large abstract and semi-abstract canvases in Acrylic – her work sells in both the local and international markets.  Most of her work is inspired by the beautiful colours and dramatic landscapes of her local environment.
