Z and M are the first letters of his birth name Zara Moussa. At 29, ZM lives between river and desert in Niger's capital Niamey. This album of 12 tracks has been selected among the 30 best productions of the musical contest Discovery RFI 2006 in the category of world music African, Caribbean and Pacific. Made entirely in Niger, this album was a challenge, that of producing an album of quality European perspective of the achievement while keeping the color and energy of Africa.

In 2005 and 2006, ZM is invited to perform at several festivals in Africa : International Festival Waga Hip Hop to Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, Tabaski Festival in Togo, Festival Women's Words and FIMA International Festival of Fashion in Niger. Above all, she participated in a major national tour to raise awareness called Caravan of Hope in the fight against AIDS with the support of the Swiss Cooperation. This tour enabled him to address the living conditions of rural women.

In 2007, ZM is invited to Switzerland to participate in the International Film Festival Vision du Reel. She visited the International Book Fair in Geneva for Africa where she met the famous writer Aminata Traoré. ZM exchange with the public at a press conference on the theme of youth problems in Africa.

In 2008, a title of his album Kirari released on the compilation DVD Fangafrika, the voice of the voiceless. This multimedia event is produced by Mondomix Editions and Staycalm, Parisian collective of DJs, videographers, graphic designer, photographer and journalist, who argues in favor of black music since 1999.

ZM started working in 2009 on his second album which will be called Woman of the desert. The woman expresses the beauty and happiness. The desert expresses stress and suffering. This new opus will speak about the beauty of Nigerian women, the society where she lives and their everyday problems. She has already recorded 6 tracks in collaboration with traditional musicians.

Woman of great openness, ZM seeks inspiration in respect of its culture, where she lives in Niamey, where she was born in Zinder. ZM addresses his audience in French, in Djerma or Hausa. Sometimes poetic, sometimes explosive, always powerful, Zara imposes a style of hip hop to heavy rhythms that blends ragga sounds and African melodies. Young artist's voice scratched, ZM expresses his rage against all forms of injustice, especially against women and those suffered by Africa and its youth.
