Kenya Weaverbird is a small, exclusive hand weaving and pottery workshop located in Nairobi, Kenya. Started in 1983 by Jacqueline Resley, an interior designer, who hitchhiked to Kenya in 1971 from a small town in Kansas, via New York City. It was set up to produce high quality contract furnishing fabrics and carpets for Hotels in East Africa.
Over the years it has branched into making a large range of carpets, wall hangings, and other home accessories such as decorative cushions, placemats, napkins, bedspreads as well as clothes. In 1992 the pottery was set up to compliment the textile range and specializes in functional tableware with a touch of Africa.
