Kulungwana - Association for Cultural Development, was officially created on May 2006. Since 2005, while not yet officially registered, Kulungwana has organized annually, in collaboration with the Maputo City Council, the Maputo International Music Festival. The Music Festival brings together mozambican and foreign classical and jazz musicians and provides master classes for music students. On April 2008, Kulungwana opened its Artistic Space "Sala de Espera" at the Central Railway Station (CFM). The space is used to showcase art and organise cultural events and to promote national artists.
