The Sylvanès abbey, masterpiece of the cistercian art welcome every summer its inescapable festival freely combining the great repertoire of sacred vocal and choral masterpieces to the great popular traditions of the entire world. Always conceived as an invitation to travel, this 38th edition will feature the great masterpieces of sacred music (Mozart, Bach, Schubert, Dvorak, Verdi, Saint-Saëns...) interpreted by famous artists. Among this prestigious guests : the chamber choir les éléments, the Choeurs et Solistes de Lyon – Bernard Tétu, the Ensemble vocal de Montpellier, Jean-Michel Hasler, the soprano Yuree Jang, the ensemble vocal Michel Piquemal...
The contemporary repertoire will not be forgotten with the world premiere "femmes au tombeau" of the composer Caroline Marçot by the feminin ensemble Mora Vocis.
In a green bower and hundred-year-old stones, this musical trip of multiple colors invites to the discover of sacred repertoires of the entire world. The public will be transported in Mongolia with the overtone singing of the ensemble Huun Huur Tu, in Iranian Kurdistan with the ensemble Razbar, in Portugal with the fadista Carla Pires, in Congo with the choir La Grace from Kinshasa... The Arabo-Andalusian and Judeo-Spanish repertoire will be offered by the great singer Françoise Atlan with the Arabo-Andalusian orchestra of Fez. This edition will give pride of place to the orthodox liturgy with the Ural Choir and in a different register, to tango of the Argentin bandoneon player Gilberto Peyrera and his compatriots of Flores del Alma.
It is also important to note the polyphonic rendez-vous of the Corsican ensemble Barbara Furtuna and the Squadra of Genova and not forget the unusual meeting between rock and symphonic musics proposed by the Weepers Circus and the Orchestre Symphonique des Jeunes de Strasbourg.
