Each screening will be followed by a public debate involving the director and selected experts (NGO professionals, Human Rights activists, academics...)

This unprecedented cultural event in the Central African Republic aims to raise awareness and inform the widest number of citizens possible and to encourage their involvement in the debates that will follow each screening. The Festival is particularly keen to engage young people (students from schools, colleges and universities...).

The Festival aspires to promote a culture of Human Rights in the Central African Republic by providing a quality program accessible to the wider public. It aims to feed public debate, peacefully and constructively. Moreover, the event will enable Human Rights activists to unite in their efforts to foster human rights issues. The Festival wishes to provide the opportunity for dialogue, meetings and exchanges, a place that reflects the expression of democratic culture.

This Festival will serve as a platform to raise awareness among the general public as well as a advocacy tool before public bodies. The Human Rights Film Festival aims to become a regular and important event in the cultural life of the Central African Republic.

The Festival is organised thanks to the support of the European Union, the Fonds francophone d'initiatives pour la démocratie, les droits de l'Homme et la paix, the Alliance Française of Bangui and in partnership with international French radio station RFI.
