WHAT IS THE FESTIVAL OF GOUINA?
It is a cultural event at the Singing Falls of Gouina. Malinke, Fulani and Khassoké people will dance the diagouran, the dansa-diawoura,the diondon, the tague, and more. This festival gathers different kinds of dances from the region of Kayes. In addition to the five traditional dance groups from the region of Kayes, artists operate in inspired areas of the Goumbé and African jazz.
The festival runs from the 27th to the 29th of January, 2012.
For people wanting to discover the region of Kayes, we offer a one-week tour and a two-week tour that includes the festival and exploration of the Malinke or the Soninke culture and history.
Tickets will be on sale soon.
Tickets will probably be $100, which includes entrance to the festival and lodging in a tent for Friday night and Saturday night.
Public transport from Bamako to Gouina will cost an additional $60, round trip.
4x4s can be rented for $120 a day plus fuel.
Vendors will sell traditional food from the Kayes region, like zame, tigadegana, and to. Meals will cost from $3 to $6 dollars.
