VOODOO TAKES OVER MONTREAL FROM SEPTEMBER 17 TO 21, 2008 AT THE 4TH MONTREAL INTERNATIONAL HAITIAN FILM FESTIVAL!

Montreal, August 28, 2008 - The Montreal International Haitian Film Festival (MIHFF) promotes independent author's films from here and abroad and provides an opportunity for professionals from all walks of life who work in the film industry to meet. At the 4th edition of the MIHFF, festival-goers will have the opportunity to discover or rediscover the world of VOODOO through feature-length and short fiction and documentary films, a three-part exhibition, a show and a debate conference.

THE 4th MIHFF

. September 3: Press Conference to unveil our program - NFB Cinema - 11a.m.

. September 16 - October 11: "VOODOO: Art, Mystery and Religion" Exhibition, in three parts: Paintings - Photography - Voodoo objects. Galerie MosaikArt, 4897 St-Laurent Blvd, Montreal.

. September 17: Official Opening Night of the MIHFF with a Creole cocktail party, a show and the opening film in the Mirella and Lino Saputo Theatre at the Leonardo da Vinci Centre - 8350 Lacordaire.

. September 18 to 21: Simultaneous film screenings in 3 theatres:
o NFB Cinema (1564 St-Denis) - 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m.
o Cinéma du Parc (3575 du Parc) - 5 p.m., 7 p.m., 9 p.m.
o Cinéma Guzzo Lacordaire (5940 des Grandes Prairies) - 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m.

. September 20: "VOODOO, from Haiti to Montreal" Conference: a panel of specialists from Haiti and Quebec will discuss various aspects of voodoo. From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Centre St-Pierre, Fernand Daoust Room (1205), 1212 Panet (corner René-Lévesque), Montreal.

. September 21: Closing Night of the Festival, awards ceremony and closing film in the Mirella and Lino Saputo Theatre at the Leonardo da Vinci Centre - 8350 Lacordaire Blvd.
