Far from being yet another artist, Marema is a new gain for our universal musical heritage. As a young child Marema sings. As a young adult, Marema starts composing, writing and singing her own repertoire.



She explores numerous ways to round off her voice. She assiduously attends the cultural centre « Douta Seck », music school in Dakar and after three years she successfully obtains her degree. From there it's her and her guitar, facing the world. She soon starts working as backing vocalist for renowned Senegalese artists, such as Awadi, Yoro Ndiaye, Edu Bocandé, Metzo Djatah, Takeifa, Idrissa Diop… Until the day the talented and internationally known musician Mao Otayeck (Alpha Blondy, Salif Keita, Stevie Wonder), notices her, encourages her and decides to support her in the recording of her first solo album.
