A personal and moving account of a family's history, the immigrant's lifelong search for home and one man's realization of what home means. Twenty years in the making, the film begins with Han's parents' childhood in Hainan, their arranged marriage and tragic separation and their poignant reunion in South Africa 14 years later. It tells of a family's struggle to forge an identity in a foreign land, as second class citizens during the apartheid years.
