Oriental dance, a traditional form of popular art, is still practised in North Africa and Egypt. During the colonial era, it enchanted western countries through literature, art and cinema.
This documentary is based on the idea of intermingling influences from East and West. It is illustrated by shows, interviews and many archive films. It ends with a presentation of new forms of oriental dance, resulting from creations by contemporary choreographers.
