Note d'intention du réalisateur \ Director's intention note
- In the African society, the supernatural lives quite comfortably with and within the natural. They intermingle and influence each other. They are one. This is the universe in which AÏCHA is set. We drift in and out of MOUSSA and AÏCHA's world. In the nightclub where the two worlds finally blend into one, Ghosts mingle with the living peacefully. AÏCHA, reflected in mirrors awaits MOUSSA's arrival. She has always known he will come.
AÏCHA is a ghost story set in contemporary Dakar. The story is not new, in fact it has become an urban myth which has traveled across countries in the continent. Many versions exist. Is it true or just a fable. This film would like to believe it is. After all, all stories, true or not, have their root in reality.
