For Marie Reinert, an expert in the art of infiltration - a term that also refers to one of her long-term projects - the gestures and gestures of work, the body as a tool, the economy as a system, are her raw material. Here, the space invested is the informal economy of Kinshasa, probed by the artists Chris Shongo, Junior Mwunzi, Jerry Lelo, Francis Longwa, Magloire Mpaka, Olikas Ngongo and Margot Oto, a group named for the occasion Système K, which means that everything is negotiated in Kinshasa. A telephone, with a handle cobbled together for the occasion, passing from
from hand to hand, will be the key to this. A breathless dive begins, driven by a camera riveted to the body of each person, which follows their movements, decentring attention and points of view and recording according to the logic of their gestures and movements. And whose rhythm, delegated to these bodies at work, develops at random from the transmissions: jolts from a bricklayer's shovel, twirls produced by a hairdresser busy with his haircut, a tracking shot from a deliveryman's motorbike, a floor perceived from shoes being shined or even screens glimpsed in a cybercafé. An epic immersion in the megalopolis, a kind of surgical cut revealing the entrails and the pulsation of an organism in perpetual activity, and we are caught up in its vivacity.
We are caught up in its liveliness and the flow of exchanges, just like the tickets we have seen many times. A crossing made possible by this collective and collaborative gesture, whose initial protocol makes it possible to weave a network that is as tight as it is unpredictable, and which absorbs the work of the film, turning in on itself, as indicated by its anthological credits. A typical day unfolds like an immense bas-relief of the daily work required by Article 15, an imaginary article of the DRC constitution, referring to resourcefulness. (Nicolas Feodoroff)
