As the hot debate goes on in Uganda to do away with the mandatory death sentence for capital offenders, some key people speak out including the death row inmates. Even after being sentenced to death, many inmates on death row believe they deserve a lenient justice compared to the one already pronounced for some claim innocent or it was unfair or they are now reformed people. However, many inmates upon being condemned to die have been stuck in the condemned section for years with no follow up of their cases, most times actually forgotten. CCPS (Centre for Capital Punishment Studies) comes in to trace some of those missing files and train lawyers, judges, social workers on how to mitigate the seemingly redundant cases so that inmates can quickly get the justice they deserve.
