Developed like an investigation, this documentary follows the path of a young Malian. Sékou emigrated to France but refuses to be fatalistic. He returns to his country to try to find remedies for the desertification that is inexorably destroying his village. We accompany him in his journeys and various meetings and discover with him the many causes of desertification (deforestation, overpopulation, the economic pressure of rich countries, etc.) and its consequences (loss of fertility, shortage of food, inter-ethnic conflicts, immigration to northern countries, etc.). What is the best solution for the eradication of this scourge? Reforestation, embankments, fallows, division of land, re-establishment of the authority of the "Master of the land"?
