During the civil war of the 1990s, which tore Algeria apart, the police commissioner Brahim Llob, who is also a writer in his spare time, tracks down Islamists on a daily basis. He has become their favorite target and it is with fear in his stomach that he enters his office at the Central Police Station in Algiers every morning. He must find the missing daughter of a former high official of the regime. Llob, a cynical and disillusioned man with a biting wit and a persifleur tone, leads the investigation with his deputies, Lieutenants Lino and Serdj. Very quickly, he realizes that he is operating in a minefield. His investigation leads him on the trail of a terrorist group responsible for eliminating Algerian intellectuals. His investigations lead him to people involved in a scandal at the National Bank. He discovers, with the help of his colleague Dine, a former commissioner, that he is manipulated by the political and financial mafia. Having become an embarrassment to the powers that be and about to publish a denunciatory book, Morituri, Llob is forced to take early retirement. With Morituri, his fourth feature film shot during the summer of 2004 in Algiers, Okacha Touita brings to the screen the successful adventures of the famous commissioner Llob created by Yasmina Khadra. Written from the material of three novels (Morituri, Double White and The Autumn of Chimeras), featuring the commissioner Brahim Llob flanked by his two lieutenants Lino and Serdj, the scenario is signed Okacha Touita, Yasmina Khadra, Michel Alexandre and Nadia Char.
