In homes without a father, a solitary mother acquires the aura of a holy warrior.

Three families affected by the absence of a father in a slum of São Paulo, Brazil, where the solitary mother acquires, through their son's eyes, the aura of a holy warrior. But these women seem to be trapped on pedestals they have no interest in and that resemble the painful Holy Mary figure that their sons' tattoo on their bodies.

Minha Fortaleza (My Fortress) is the title of the rap song the main character Macário, 24, composed to thanks his mother, whose portrait he tattooed in his chest. With the lyrics of this powerful song permeating the narrative, this documentary intends to take a journey through the tattoo studios of São Paulo's impoverished East Zone, seeking young people who, like the character Macário, have tattooed the image of their mother - or of the Virgin Mary - in their body. The idea is to show this fatherless young generation and their relationship with their mothers - seen as a saint and not accidentally identified with this religious figure who is the patron saint of Brazil - and the need to mark in one's skin this commitment of integrity and righteousness amidst an environment where the appeal of the life as a criminal is ever present.
