Mahfoud works on the renovation of an old weaving loom. He wants to present his invention at the International Inventions Fair in Heidelberg, but is confronted to over-bearing bureaucracy. He meets Samia, a young brilliant psychiatrist who deals with patients who are traumatised ex-soldiers of the Algerian war. Amongst these is M'naour, who is building a plot against Mahfoud. But the latter comes back from Germany as a winner.
M'naour is designated as the perfect scapegoat and must sacrifice himself. Samia leaves Mahfoud, disgusted when the latter is recuperated by the power in place…
