Zahir, who lives in a small village in Kabylia, discovers at the death of his father the existence of a brother in France, Mathieu. He invites him to his country where he asks him not to tell anything to their sister Lamia, who wants to know more...
Algeria is the country with which France has the most painful memory. On the border between documentary and fiction, Voyage en Kabylie sets off in search of otherness between two brothers, an Algerian dreaming of freedom and a Frenchman in search of a father. As in The Iliad, a war has deeply marked the bodies and minds of two peoples, and we seek to film peace by borrowing from history, myths and chance.
