Capoeira Brasil Zanzibar is led by Mestre Juruna Mestre Biriba and Mestre Popoban.  They have been training young Zanzibaris at the Dhow Countries Music Academy (DCMA), at Chukwani in Zanzibar Town as well as in Chwaka, on the East Coast.

Capoeira is known for quick and complex moves, using power, speed, and leverage for a wide variety of kicks, spins, and highly mobile techniques. It is also great fun to participate, or even just to watch!
