Through giving voice to the insights and creativity of African writers we aim to:




Celebrate the role of artists in articulating the world around us, in precipitating learning and self-reflective experiences, and playing a role as agents of change

Conscientise artist communities, general public and governments to the importance of freedom of expression and its value for society

Contribute to the shaping of positions for ArtWatch Africa and assist in guiding the processes of training, research, advocacy and increased visibility of the arts and culture sectors in Africa
