DOADOA is a joint initiative of a number of leading creative entrepreneurs in East Africa – Bayimba Foundation (Uganda), Sarakasi Trust (Kenya), Phat! Entertainment (Kenya), Ketebul Music (Kenya), Busara Promotions (Tanzania), Caravan Records (Tanzania), KigaliUp! (Rwanda), Selam Music (Ethiopia) – that have joined forces to develop the market for performing arts in East Africa and unlock the potential of the East African creative industry by providing an annual platform for professional networking and mutual learning, bringing together various stakeholders in the creative industry to link people, organizations, businesses, knowledge and technology.

DOADOA gives stakeholders in the music industry (e.g. musicians, music producers, music promoters, managers and music festivals), but also of other performing arts professionals (such as drama and dance) the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience, to network and learn. There will be conferences, discussions, seminars and practical training workshops by experts from the regional and international industry as well as informal networking sessions, mentorship opportunities and showcases by selected artists. A record breaking number of 1,500 professionals and audiences attended the third edition of DOADOA. The fourth edition promises to go beyond this. The detailed programme will be online as soon as experts, panellists and tutors have been confirmed.
