Jamaican reggae artist, who stalled on an African tour last year, has finally committed to a March 28performance at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe as part of his new African tour.

Last October, the legendary reggae artist cancelled an African tour, citing the fear of contacting the Ebola virus.

In a letter released on Saturday by Luciano's Jahmessenjah Productions and signed by the musician himself, he states: "This is to confirm that I Jepther Washington MaClymont (aka Luciano) will be doing an African tour commencing on March 28 to April 2. Some of the countries I will be touring include South Africa, Ghana and Malawi."

He continues: "It is with great regret that the tour was cancelled last year; this was because of the Ebola crisis and my sickness. I am feeling much better now and ready to deliver the message of righteousness. Give thanks."

Luciano also released a brief video confirm his visit.

Organiser of the show, South Africa-based Malawian reggae singer Born Afrikan yesterday confirmed that all is set for the Luciano show.

"Everything happens when time for it to happen," he said.

According to Born Afrikan, local musicians Lucius Banda, Skeffa Chimoto, Sally Nyundo, Nepman, Limbani Banda and Soul Raiders Band will perform alongside Luciano, who will be backed by South Africa's All Nations Band.

"We have changed the lineup of featured artists in order to give others a chance to share the stage with these Jamaican international artists and we will on rotating like that," he explained.

Luciano is said to be popular in Malawi through songs such as Lord Give Me Strength, Sweep Over My Soul, It's Me Again Jah and New Day.

Malawians recently danced to vibes from other Jamaican Fantan Mojah who also came courtesy of the Born African Poductions.
