The rising young Highlife and Palmwine musician has released his first self-produced album, 'Higher Life on Palmwine', online and can be listened for free on soundcloud or purchased on platforms including itunes, amazon and spotify.

Described by CNN Africa as a 'wizard with a guitar' and by Forbes Afrique as 'the little prince of Palmwine', Kyekyeku is fast establishing himself as one of the Ghanaian artists of the new generation to watch out for, leading to the rediscovery traditional folk music from Ghana reconstructed.

The 10 tracks album features traditional folk including 'Friday Night' with Koo Nimo, and Kyekyeku's own compositions, depicting modern Ghana in a tender and realist way. The last track is a live recording captured in one of the live venues that has supported him from the beginning, +233 Jazz Bar & Grill.

Drawing inspiration from his mentor, Koo Nimo, Kyekyeku enriched his music from the numerous musical encounters he had by collaborating with artists such as Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Blick Bassy, Wanlov the Kubolor, Thais Morell, Peter White etc and influences from legends like Fela Kuti, Ebo Taylor, Djavan, Gilberto Gil and Oliver Mtukudzi among others.

Kyekyeku was recently invited at MASA, the main African music market in Ivory Coast, representing Ghana, bringing the Palmwine sounds to the ears of hundreds on the African continent.

Kyekyeku and his band will be performing on October 22nd 2016 at the Alliance Française, Accra, where he will invite Highlife legends and younger ground-breaking Ghanaian musicians to share the stage with.
