The Studios Kabako in Kisangani, the 1er Temps Association in Dakar and Culturarte in Maputo are happy and proud to announce the launch of:

Pamoja : A Panafrican network of production and residencies

Pamoja, "together" in swahili language, stemmed from a simple observation: the difficulty for African artists to create and show their work on the continent and the lack of artists' and projects ‘circulation between African countries.
Pamoja is an initial answers from three artists-led organizations: the Studios Kabako / Faustin Linyekula - DRC, the 1er Temps Association / Andreya Ouamba - Senegal and Culturarte / Panaibra Canda - Mozambique.

In practice, Pamoja will offer over three years:

* Three creative residencies for young artists, the "Debuts" programme;
* Three creative residencies for more established artists and companies, the "Parcours" programme;
* Three research residencies for artists to reflect on and develop projects with no immediate obligation of results. A specific
Recherches residency will be dedicated to digital arts in Dakar, in collaboration with the Incident organization.

These In-Residence programmes will be shared with local communities in Kisangani, Maputo and Dakar through workshops, encounters and training sessions for artists, but also for light, sound and production managers.Free performances, screenings, open rehearsals and discussions with host artists will also been organized for the general
public.

We have invited several structures to join us in this great venture, will be by our side: the Chatha dance company, Hafiz Dhaou and Aïcha Mbarek, the KVS Theatre in Brussels, the Maria Matos Theatre in Lisbon, MAPP and The Africa Contemporary Arts Consortium (USA), Incident in Dakar and Corban in Brussels.

Pamoja is also supported by the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, The Institut Français-Afrique en créations, The KVS Brussels, The Ambassade de France in Senegal, The Ambassade de France in Democratic Republic of the Congo, The Prince Claus for Culture and Development and Pro Helvetia Johannesburg.
