In this interview published by the cultural journal Souffle inédit
(ISSN 2739-879X), Tunisian filmmaker Mohamed Jamel Nefzi reflects
on a career that spans historical documentary, music video
and philosophical fiction.
He discusses the making of his documentary "130 Years of Alaouites"
(2019), selected for the Carthage Film Festival (JCC), his work
as a trainer within the European Erasmus+ TOURITAGE programme,
and his feature fiction project in development,
"Wala - The Pilot's Vow", a philosophical drama
written in classical Arabic.
The interview explores his vision of cinema as a space
of living memory - navigating between historical truth
and emotional truth, between collective heritage
and personal experience.
