Following the call for projects launched during FESPACO 2017, the OUAGA FILM LAB's selection committee is pleased to announce that the following projects have been selected:

A l'ombre d'Elimane, a documentary film project by Hamedine KANE (Senegal), produced by Rama THIAW from Boul Fallé Images (Senegal)

Agoodjie, a fiction film project by Félicien M. ASSOGBA (Benin), produced by Fredy Boris AGBLO from F-MEDIA (Benin)

Bori Bana, a fiction film project by Joël AKAFOU (Côte d'Ivoire), produced by Floriane ZOUNDI (Burkina Faso) from Merveilles Production (Benin)

Dia, a fiction film project by Achille Ronaïmou (Chad), produced by Faissol GNONLONFIN (Benin)

Duba, Les charognards, a fiction film project by Eric Hervé R. LENGANI (Burkina Faso), produced by Moustapha SAWADOG0 from Racines Productions (Burkina Faso)

Terre Jaune, a documentary film project by Chérif FOFANA (Mali), produced by Madjé AYITE from Universal Grace Production (Togo)

The main aim of the OUAGA FILM LAB development and co-production residency is to strengthen the competitiveness of West African directors and producers within major international labs, as well as to facilitate their access to local funds, international co-productions and a close collaboration with experienced mentors from around the continent.

The 2nd edition of OUAGA FILM LAB will take place from 18 to 23 September 2017 in Ouagadougou and will be organized in close collaboration with EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs), the Institut français (IF Paris, IF Burkina Faso, la Fabrique des cinémas du Monde, la Cinémathèque Afrique), ISIS (Burkina Faso), FESPACO (Burkina Faso), the Institut Imagine de Ouagadougou, the Festival international de film documentaire d'Agadir au Maroc (FIDADOC), Sud Ecriture (Tunisia), Centre des Écritures Cinématographiques au Moulin d'Andé (France) and Produire au Sud (France).
OUAGA FILM LAB is supported by the Swiss Cooperation Office in Burkina Faso, the Danish Embassy in Burkina Faso, the French Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC), the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Burkina Faso, Canal Plus, the Goethe Institute in Ouagadougou, the SODEC (Quebec), Téléfilm Canada, and UNICEF Burkina.
