African Film Development Foundation establishes a dedicated source of film funding that addresses the clear support and facilitation of African Filmmaking, despite an acclamation for Nigeria's Nollywood; sprung from pre-Independent era (late 1950s - early 1960s) African filmmaking beginnings.
Stakeholders are generally unprepared in the improvement of collaborative strategies and techniques for film production and audience development. African Film Development Foundation facilitates an opportunity for the evolution of such education, which will be increasingly necessary as Africa continues on the path of a market driven filmmaking industry. We deliver typical and high quality Africa focused screenings, special events and projects to promote African culture in a rapidly changing world. This will interest the African film audience to learn and interact with the continent's story.
The emphasis of this array of film exhibition program will be held yearly, with a strong environmental innovation during the season. African Film Development Foundation is passionate at developing outreaches in the aforementioned locations to train and empower African film projects. By so doing we will develop an Africa film oriented market niche.
