'FCA is the only foundation of its kind in Ghana. It is dedicated to supporting the development of young artists.it offers artists a badly needed place to brainstormlearn about the international art scene and keep in contact with the World' (Marina Galvani, curator, World Bank Art Program, Washington).

Our mission is to create an active network of artists and a critical forum for the development of contemporary art in Ghana.

"Contemporary art is produced now, for a present-day public. Art is dynamic. It questions identity, individual and collective memory, and tells us who we are, or might become. Present-day society is diverse and this is reflected in the visual arts community in Ghana as elsewhere. Art is about life, about possible scenarios for change, and investigates depth of spirit. What is the role of artists' experience? What does it let us understand about ourselves and society?

Art is about quality and intention, about finding the correct form in which to express one's vision individually as well as a community. Artists are a precious human resource. The potential embodied in this richness may be realised best if artists work to build a network.

The FCA network connects all artists, both national and foreign, presently working in Ghana. After all, the creative act is one of making connections.

We are happy to welcome all who are interested in contemporary art. Together, we can build net-works, human and information resources, and potential spaces in which the art community can flourish. Journey with us!"
