Naggalabi Indigenous Theatre (NIT) is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO-Reg. No. WCBO/288/13) operating in Nsangi Sub County-Naggalabi Buddo near the coronation site with Eric Lutaaya Jjemba MAPA, BA DNC, Dip MDD [MUK] and Sylvia Kigula Namulema BA DRA, Dip MDD [MUK] as directors.  On a 100/100 feet piece of land Eric's family shares life with the Naggalabi community. We have for the last three years engaged community members in performing arts skills training, bought two Nankasa sets of drums, four big drums, a number of traditional costumes, and a number of traditional instruments. We have also constructed an open stage-with terraces seating 300 spectators who usually come to watch a free community cultural performance. We also provide a platform to empower youth in craftsmanship and debating issues for national development.

The beginning (2010) was casual; we could dance from the sitting room because we were very few. Currently the numbers to our program are overwhelming; we have over 21 youths, 45 children and 13 adults. "Whereas we can manage to continuously 'improvise', with this overwhelming number of beneficiaries; essential facilities like toilets, clean water supply, PA system, folk and modern instruments, in addition to space/shelter among others are wanting. We invite all well wishers to this humanitarian cause. We here by appreciate the informal and formal working relationship with local and international friends including but not limited to:

The New York University-the Steinhardt School of Education Program in Dance Education Dept. of Music and Performing Arts Professions who visit Nit every January on their study a broad program.

The Performing Arts and Film Department of Makerere University for their Applied Dance students who come here for internship with Nit children

The Kingdom of Buganda – Nit provides a demonstration ground for skills and performance structures for the proposed 'Naggalabi Royal Cultural Centre' (NRCC ) to be constructed at Buddo Naggalabi coronation site.

Face Music Switzerland for supporting  four Nit members who travelled to Zurich to workshop with children, record and publish traditional records

Schools around Buddo for allowing us to perform and provide cultural training to their children.

Tourists to the coronation site at Naggalabi who usually get an evening to relax and watch a cultural performance at Nit after a long day's tour around this great historical hill. These include: Steve Gerald from Wale and Heinz Arnold from Switzerland

All parents who have entrusted us with their children, we promise to provide physical, emotional and cognitive development to your children.

Tender Talents International Children's festival for inviting Nit members  to participate in their Festival at Kasangati-Gayaza

Eric developed love for community work in 2005 when he was elected a students' leader in Baganda-Nkobazambogo student's association of Makerere University. He is currently the academic adviser of the above association. Eric's expertise as a University performing arts Lecturer is shared among Nit beneficiaries. Particularly his experience with his recent research on psychomotor engagement (Dance-for-rehabilitation) of juvenile delinquents informs him more on how to use applied dance in cognitive developing.

Sylvia the operations director has great experience in the field of drama and folklore; her exposure with Youth Arts Development and Entrepreneurship Network (Yaden) and her knowledge from her BA Drama degree from Makerere's department of Performing Arts (MDD) makes her a perfect mobilizer and trainer. Flavia Bukulu Kiyimba also working with food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is the advisor and treasurer for the centre. With such human resource plus some infrastructure in place, we are determined to carry our responsibility to further heights.
