The National Theatre Association of Malawi herein also referred to as (NTAM) was established in 1998 as Drama Association of Malawi. In a couple of the succeeding years however, consultations revealed that it was imperative that the naming of the association had reflected other elements that go with drama such as dances and singing. In effect, the grouping got launched as National Theatre Association of Malawi NTAM in the year 2002. In spite of the name changes, the grouping has remained a coordinating body for theatrical arts in the country. NTAM champions the performers, drama and choreographic groups on both individuals and collective note.
