How would you feel if you discovered an historic collection of African music, forgotten by the world for decades? And what would you do if you learned that it was in danger of being lost forever?
The music in the archives is an extensive mix of Afro-jazz and rhumba, dance music, Arabic "taarab" (sung Swahili poetry), and much more. This music reflects the spirit of a nation determined to promote peace, pride, and national unity after many years of colonial oppression.
