Presentation
SPOR MEDIA is involved in a wide range of media activities which promote inter-cultural understanding between the North and the South. Through film, educational materials, web sites, etc. SPOR MEDIA brings into focus the cultural diversity and the human potential of the South, among other things to counter the images of misery and hostility to foreigners.

SPOR MEDIA produces documentary films from e.g. Latin America og Africa: about returning to Chile, from where one's parents fled, about the clash between modernity and tradition in Zimbabwe and about the problems involved in being an agent of change in a Senegalese village. SPOR MEDIA is also involved in other production activities than those based on South themes: our attitudes to death, hearing disability - and reconciliation in Bosnia.

SPOR MEDIA has promoted films and film projects by filmmakers from all three continent of the South. This work - with the support of Danida - has put more than 100 films from the South in permanent distribution in Denmark though the Danish Film Institute and the public libraries (Distant Neighbours / Fjerne Naboer). In connection with these - and our own - films, SPOR MEDIA has produced web-based teaching materials.

SPOR MEDIA collaborates with Danish NGOs on information projects, such as audio visual shows for the Operation Day's Work [Danish high school students' fund raising campaign], publications for the aid organization Ibis and recutting films for DanChurchAid.

SPOR MEDIA collaborates with the film festival Salaam.dk
SPOR MEDIA was founded in 1980.
