Alcina Charlie, Vanuatu's long time and ongoing inspirational songstress, age of 30 years, is a singer/songwriter, website officer for the Vanuatu Tourism Office, part time professional singer entertainer and is a mother of twin girls both 7 years of age.
Alcina has promoted Vanuatu culture and attractions through both her work in tourism via trade fairs, expos and conferences and her passion for music in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, New Caledonia, and Shanghai World Expo in China 2010.
She released a solo album in 2008 and her compositions carry messages of hope and positivity, embracing Vanuatu hospitality, culture, respect, pride and indigenous heritage.
Alcina has been a proactive committee member of the pacific's biggest music festival, the Fest Napuan Music Fest, for 14 years.
She is the Vice President of the Vanuatu Music Federation which is a body of artists and musicians whom have pushed and advocated for Vanuatu's copyright law to be gazetted so that artists can be recognized for their music.
