Areej ZARROUQ is a director, writer and producer who earned a BA in Media Studies from City University, Cairo. She has participated in numerous film workshops in Khartoum, Cairo and Germany and has assisted in organising the European Film Festival, Khartoum (2011). Zarrouq directed Orange Tint (2010), a documentary film about a day in the life of Sudanese urban girls, which was produced by Sudan Film Factory, a film organisation within the Goethe Institute Khartoum. She is an active member of the Sudan Film Factory and recently one of her original feature film scripts was chosen for production by the Luxor African Film Festival, Egypt.
She launched the Afrika Film School in 2018, based in Khartoum, Sudan.
