French Moroccan Festival Director and producer.

Bruno SMADJA (برونو سمادجا) is a Festival Director and Film Producer.

For 12 years, Bruno Smadja loves to create innovative and creative events dedicated to filmmakers and producers.

In 2005, Bruno Smadja has created the Mobile Film festival around an unique concept : 1 Mobile, 1 Minute, 1 Film. This international film festival gives great opportunities to young filmmakers.

In 2015, the United Nations asked the Mobile Film Festival to organize a special edition about Climate Change for the COP21. 750 filmmakers from 70 countries have submitted a film. Thanks to the 75 selected films, we reached 17 million views in 2 months.

In 2010, Bruno Smadja has created Cross Video Days that have become the leading financing market for digital content in Europe. Every year, more than 30 countries are represented, more than 250 projects in development are submitted and the major European media are attending as commissioners (BBC, Arte, Canal +, Channel 4, ZDF, Rai, Red Bull,…).

Bruno Smadja has a dream: to democratize the creation of cinema. In order to remove financial barriers, nepotism, and privileges, the only condition is to have talent! The unique and creative format he created 18 years ago is still as relevant today: 1 Mobile, 1 Minute, 1 Film.
Today, the festival is international (with over 6,400 films from 157 countries in 6 years), digital (with 134 million views), generous (offering €360,000 in grants to support creation), and in partnership with the United Nations to defend the planet and human rights. "Act on Climate
Change," "Stand up for Human Rights," and "Women's Empowerment" were the themes of the festival's most recent international editions.
Winners and co-produced short films come from all over the world, including India, Indonesia, France, Iran, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Hungary, Italy, Brazil, and Tunisia. Films by grant-winning festival laureates have been qualified for the Oscars and have won Sundance Asia.
in 2023, the Mobile Film Festival Africa celebrates its second year, with an edition dedicated exclusively to the African continent in the context of "Rabat, the African Capital of Culture" (with films screened at 2nd MIFF, Yasmine Hammamet this year).
