Congolese (DRC) filmmaker.

Dieudonné HAMADI (Dieudonné HAMADI) is a film director, screenwriter, cinematographer and producer.

He was born in Kisangani (Democratic Republic of Congo - DRC), on February 22, 1984. He follows documentary and editing workshops, studies medicine, to fully engage in cinema and questions the institutions of his country, the DRC.

After two acclaimed short films, "Dames en attente - Ladies in Waiting" (2009) and "Tolérance zéro - Zero Tolerance" (2010), he directed a documentary, "Atalaku" (2013), winner of the Joris Ivens Award for Best First Film at the Festival Cinéma du Réel, Paris; then "Examen d'État - National Diploma" (2014), Grand Prize at FIDADOC, Agadir. In 2015, he founded his production company, Kiripifilms. In 2017, he directed "Maman Colonelle - Mama Colonel", Grand Prize at the Festival Cinéma du Réel, and in 2019 received a grant from the McMillan-Stewart Foundation of Harvard's Film Study Center.
His feature documentary "En route pour le milliard - Downstream to Kinshasa" (2020) is in the Official Selection of 2020 Cannes Film Festival. He is currently working on a TV series "Milimo, les âmes errantes de Kinshasa" which he is producing and directing for Canal+, and on his next feature film "La Vie est un chemin de fer".
In 2025, he attends the Cannes Film Festival as member of the Feature Films Jury.

Dieudo Hamadi wurde am 22. Februar 1984 in Kisangani geboren und studierte von 2005 bis 2008 Biomedizin. Seit 2002 hat er einige Dokumentar-/ Film-Workshops und Videoschnitt-Lehrgänge absolviert und arbeitet seit 2004 als Cutter, Produzent und Regieassistent u. a. für Suka! Productions in Südafrika.
