Sembatya Edward is a Diploma graduate of Dance from Makerere University's Performing Arts and Film (PAF) Department. He is currently pursuing his bachelor degree in dance from the Norwegian Dance College (NCD). Edward is a performer, dance choreographer and an accomplished accompanist mainly African Instruments.
His excellence is evident in the dance pieces he has choreographed and showcased during the Makerere University-PAF and NCD at the National theatre in 2014 and at Wonder World in 2015. He is also a trainer of Music, Dance and Drama preparing schools for the Arts Festival. The schools he has trained include the following: Gayaza High School and Makerere College School. These two schools have always excelled at these festivals.
Credited for his best choreographer and an outstanding accompanist for PAF's Peoples' Theatre 2012 and "Why Not Dance? " a dance collaboration of PAF-NCD. Before going abroad for further studies, Edward was the Stage Manager for Mizizi Ensemble where he also performs.
He was part of the dancers for Silent Voices where he also played African traditional instruments.
