Lakkimi Farid was born in Morocco, in the region of Fès, in 1978. At a young age he was already fascinated by films. This passion will eventually lead him to study and work in Film making. Farid studied in France first getting a bachelor degree in Arts at the University Lumière Lyon 2, then a Master degree in Film school specializing in screenplay writing at the University Libre in Brussels (Belgium). He directed his first short Film while in school. He experienced different genres, trying to master both the world of photography and script writing. Farid writes his own screenplays which gives him the opportunity to totally express his creativity. In 2009 the Moroccan Center for Cinematography welcomes him as a member as upcoming Film Director. In 2010 he opens his own Film production company in Tangier. The same year the Center funds his first short Film called "Le Cordon". In April 2013 he is the recipient of funds from the Moroccan Center for Cinematography to make his first full length feature film: "Coeur Noyé" written by Dorothée Landelle.
