Algerian Filmmaker.

Faycal Hammoum is born in Algiers in 1981. He lived there where he went to high school until the age of 16. He left Algeria to live in Switzerland (Lausanne) and follow his studies in high school. After obtaining his baccalaureate he went to Paris (France) to take up his studies in law (ASSAS Paris 2) then Cinema (CLCLF) where he obtained a double diploma of assistant director and editing. He went back to Algiers in 2009 and joined the production society THALA FILMS (www.thalafilms.com). Since then he produced many short movies of fiction as well as two feature documentaries. He was awarded in 2011 and 2012 the title of "Best Producer of the Arab world" in The International Film Festival of Abu Dhabi. He directed his first feature documentary "Vote OFF" in 2016 [the movie is banned in Algeria, the Bejaia FilmFest 2016 is not allowaed to screen it].
