From a far, you would be forgiven if you mistook Fred's pieces of art for, well, absolutely nothings. But don't despair just let, I urge you to step a step closer, then another one, there can you see it. There it is. It was always there. Fred just didn't want you to see it at first, you needed to look harder, think bigger in order to see the bigger picture. That is exactly the reaction artist Fred Abuga wants to evoke in anyone who beholds his art pieces for the first time, a sense of wonder and desire to think bigger thoughts.

The creative admits to having an interest in art from a very early age. In fact many at times his pieces not only baffled his peers but also his teachers as well. With a desire to augment his already budding skills, Fred sort a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts.

Fred completed the Diploma and was able to cement his skills as a fine artist. He does his creations using mainly oil paint and canvas, but has gradually diversified to include mixed media collage as one of the tools in his skills arsenal. He is able to combine both beautiful blocks of colour and expert brush strokes to come up with his arresting creations.

The busy markets in the country are also a one of the sources of his inspiration. The young soft spoken artist's style of painting never fails to amaze anyone who beholds it a skill that saw the gentleman win most promising male artist in the year 2006. Furthermore the fact that his pieces warrant a second closer look from the observer in order to discern what is going is something that makes his work unique and enables it to stand out.
