Hamiida Namugga is a Lecturer at Makerere University's Performing Arts and Film Department since November 2001. She is a Drama in Education Specialist, Community Educator, Theater Consultant.
She has specialized experience in theatre for community education and development. Facilitator in a number of projects for grass root community mobilization and change of attitudes and behaviour. Currently interested in advocating for reconciliation and peace building through theater.
Specialties: Information dissemination, community mobilizer and educator, social change advocate. She conducts lectures, Supervise Research and Playwriting Projects, Scholar and Researcher.
Hamiida was a Choir member from Primary 4,She holds a Diploma in Education from Masindi National teachers' College, She was once the Culture Secretary, Complex Hall-Makerere University and Representative of the Bachelor of Arts students at the departmental Music Dance and Drama (MDD).
She graduated with a Honours degree majored in Music Dance and Drama with literature and English Language Studies .
She also holds a Masters degree in Performing Arts from Makerere University and currently pursuing her Doctoral studies from the same University.
In performing arts circles, she is a theatre critic, actor and director. She also does costumes, adjudication and project management.
