ARTIST STATEMENT

My sculptures address social and cultural issues, representing issues that arise in a society where i work at the moment. I use scrap metal mostly from car parts, motor cycles and bicycles and give them a new life. my sculptures are static but intriguing. Using studied lines, shapes and texture I strive to create vignettes of motion. Using wire and found metal, I bend, bolt, screw, cast, patina, grind and weld these objects together to make intriguing sculptures. I draw my inspiration from challenges of blending technical structures while maintaining the aesthetics. "I am inspired by subtle life experiences, as I work, my mind runs like a slide show of partial pictures, flashes of abstract images, I grab these images as they come to combine and
arrange then to make sculpture."
