Laurie Lambert is a Canadian filmmaker and academic living in New York City. She is the author of Comrade Sister: Caribbean Feminist Revisions of the Grenada Revolution (2020, University of Virginia Press) and the director of Tambu (2026), a documentary on Jamaican folk music and dance.

She teaches at Fordham University where her research and teaching interests include Caribbean folk practices, Black Feminism, Caribbean and African Diasporic history, literature and film.

Lambert received her B.F.A. in Film Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in Toronto, Canada, as well as an M.A. in English from the University of Toronto. In 2013 she completed her Ph.D. in English and American Literature at New York University. She is the daughter of Grenadians and grew up between Toronto and Grenada.
