The author of thrillers such as "Les Traffiqueurs" and "Paradis B", Lucio adopted his pen name in tribute to the maestro of Italian giallo pictures, Lucio Fulci. A seasoned African voyager who directed adaptations of works by African authors for the stage (Kaidare by Hampaté Ba and "Consulat Zénéral" by Aminata Zaaria), Lucio Mad always dreamed, whatever the medium, of a total spectacle allying hair-raising entertainment with profound reflection on the state of the world. Sadly, he died before the completion of "Black", carried away by cancer in august, 2005.
