Reunionese visual artist, singer, photographer and actress.
Marie LANFROY is a visual artist, singer, photographer and actress.
She is known for MAUDIT (2020, directed by Emmanuel Parraud), as "Dorothée" (main roles).
After a childhood and adolescence abroad, Marie Lanfroy returned to her native Réunion in 2008. It was in 2011 that she joined the Ecole Supérieure d'Art de La Réunion; She developed there for five years a photographic and videographic work. In June 2016, she obtained her master's degree in art with the congratulations of the jury and produced her very first collective exhibition, Distorsion. At the same time as her studies, in 2012 she formed the group "Saodaj'", a musical formation which she defined as "nomadic maloya", a formation in which she wrote, composed, sang and played traditional instruments from Reunion Island with four other singing musicians. Her primary quest, in all the artistic forms she uses, is to create a new relationship with the Other, through encounter and common creation.
